home is where the dog hair is

i'm in a full on a battle with the pug hair that is everywhere in my house!!

and i am majorly losing.

holy dyson vacuum batman!

what is up with all the shedding?

i'm convinced that while they just lay on the sofa sleeping all day they're secretly mass producing more hair just to drive me up a tree.

if i wasn't so tired of sweeping hair up i'd be pulling out my own hair.

do you think the humane society would frown upon vacuuming a pug??

i have not and will not, but the thought has crossed my mind.

We used to vacuum our lab, she didn't mind! I hate shedding season!! We are forever vacuuming too with 2 golden retrievers and 3 cats!!

I really did vacuum my pug! He thought it was a massage.....
I used an attachment that was like a brush, and it worked fairly well. Still, there was lots of shedding, but it made me feel like I was doing something about it!

I'm having both of mine shaved down for the summer. Not completely shaved bald but trimming the fur which also pulls out a lot of the under coat. It honestly helps a lot! Something to consider!

Have you considered a Furminator? We got one recently for our cat and it works wonders. I was at my wits end, dealing with her fur balls all over the house. My daughter, who has a chocolate lab, suggested the Furminator. It doesn't work so well on my Min Pin. Min Pins don't have an undercoat, and their hair is very short (looks like eyelashes on my shirt after I hold her). I'm thinking Pugs have quite a bit more hair than Min Pins, though.

They're a bit pricey, but well worth the cost!

My pugs would not be fans of vacuuming, I think. They see it rarely enough but they aren't a fan of the blow dryer, so I'm just guessing.
However, I do have a hint for you. Try adding omega 3 fatty acids to their diet. Fish oil or flax oil capsules once a day. And I use Missing Link Plus. It has omega 3s plus other good stuff. The omega 3s really cut down on the shedding and make the coat very silky. It also does wonders for skin if dry skin is a problem. I also volunteer with rescue and every pug that comes in sheds like a maniac but goes out shedding less. I have four pugs in the house at the moment and while I can't say there's no pug hair, there's not much. Honestly, the cats shed worse than the pugs.
Roombas are awesome too. I run mine at night and it keeps the fur down to a minimum.
