crying at the vet

Yesterday was pug's annual check-up at the vet.

$$Cha-Ching$$

It started off great he's super clueless and so was more than thrilled when we walked in and was loving all the attention and cuteness compliments he was receiving.  We headed back to a private room then his memory started kicking in and he realized this is not a very fun place and the whimpering began and my heart started breaking.  They took him to another room and I stepped outside to return a phone call.  A few minutes later I step back in and standing in the lobby is a woman bawling her eyes out.  She just had to put her dog down.

She's crying.

I start crying.

It was awful.  I have this thing where if someone cries I cry and also the fact that 10 months ago we had to put our family cat of 18 years down brought everything rushing back.

It's a terrible feeling.  A sense of lost and bewilderment of how the world can keep moving on without your furry friend beside you.

So, when my ever pissed pug returned to me I scooped him up loved on him like crazy.  As ridiculously high as the bill was for once my mouth didn't hit the floor instead I just handed over the debit card blessed he was healthy.

Pets are so worth it.

Sounds like a very similar story that I experienced this past week at the vet.Crying lady that put her dog down...except my little kitty was really sick and the fear of putting her to sleep was very real. Every test under the sun was done.Thankfully, she just has a really bad UTI...The bill was HUGE but I am so grateful that it wasn't something worse. Pets ate so worth it!

I am just like you when it comes to seeing people cry...as my boyfriend puts it I'm "sensitive". And I'm even more of a sap when it comes to pets (or any animal for that matter)! Glad the little man is healthy!

I can't even think about the moment that our pets won't be with us. I think I'd be reduced to tears just thinking about it for a second.

Oh sorry. What a hard visit to the vet for both of you. Glad the Pug is healthy. The crazy vet bills are worth good health of our little furry family members.

Oh man... last time I was at the vet, there was a husband & wife that just put their pet down as well & they were crying their eyes out... I started crying so hard, people probably thought it was my pet as well... that is such a pain & ache that is indescribable.. it really does make you want to love on your fur-baby even more...

Pets are so worth it! They just need to live longer! We also have a pug. He turned a year old this month and is a happy little man. Pugs have the best disposition, don't they? :)

I'm glad I came across your blog. Now a followers!

Our doxie, Katie, has started acting funny: not jumping up on the furniture, not coming into the bed with me (which believe me are very scary things!) and she has what appears to be a lump on her side by her ribcage. She doesn't appear to be in any pain but I am scared to take her in to find out what it could be.....
