a memo to pug #2
To: Pug
From: Upper Management
Date: 3/26/09
RE: Performance Review
Dear Pug,
Below is your most recent performance review.
1. Job Skills/Performance- Could be improved upon. You're still in need of consistent reminders that you are in fact a dog and not royalty. However, you have recently mastered taking a nap during the day which has greatly increased the productivity of those around you.
2. Communication- Needs improvement. No need to bark in people's ears.
3. Problem Solving- Excellent. You figured out how to pull an entire load of laundry off the dryer as well as your ability to remove the cap off a water bottle in under 10 seconds. Although not encouraged it's impressive.
4. Supervision- Unsatisfactory. You're too curious.
5. Cuteness- Outstanding. You get away with anything with those big eyes and head tilts.
Overall, Excellent!
Love,
Girl
P.S. We're not AIG so no bonuses this year. Sorry.

I can't even come up with a clever title
Howdy y'all!
What have y'all be up to? (I should do a post and see how many times I can say y'all in it...cause seriously I say it A LOT).
So, along with it "being one of those weeks" and I'm in a bloggy funk. I took a little break. It also didn't help that the NCAA tournament is on. Go Jayhawks! If you do a bracket, how are you doing? We do a family bracket and go week to week. It's nice because there's a chance for a come back. I lost my 6 year winning streak last year to my dad so I'm hoping to reclaim the champ title.
Anyway, last night boy and I rented this.
Can I get the pic any smaller? It's "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" for those of us that are squinting.
Have y'all seen it? I won't spoil it because it's an excellent movie so do rent it, but seriously y'all this needs an Ugly Cry Alert on it and needs to come with a box of tissues. My word this was like twice as sad as "Simon Birch" and I cried for a week after seeing that! The Ugly Cry got so bad during the movie that pug sat behind me on the sofa and put his sweet little paw on my shoulder. Melt my heart are pets not the greatest!

life lesson
Here is a good life lesson.
If your mother kindly let's you borrow her car, then after graciously returning the car try not to stuff HER keys back in YOUR purse. This will most definitely avoid a situation where you drive an hour back to your house only to get a phone call from mom inquiring about said keys and then you have to mail them back which will cost you $6.24.
Just a tip I thought I'd share.
Not that that's happened today.
Is it Friday yet?

church search
Sorry the blog has been kind of quiet lately . If you put your ear up to the monitor you can hear the crickets chirping.
But yep, we are on that search.
So our search kind of got me thinking because I'm sure so many of y'all have been on this hunt or maybe are even on it now. I hope you found "the one" in the end because y'all there is nothing better than the community of a church. It is truly a gift and we feel overly blessed to have had that with our old church We absolutely adored it. We were surrounded for 4 years by a fantastic pastor, great worship and a wonderful community that you could get real with and they'd get real with you back. And friends I truly believe that's what it's about. The bar is set just a bit high now.
So why are we parting ways?
Location, Location, Location.
I know that sounds like a terrible reason but let me explain.
Our church isn't super close. When we moved where we moved we said we'd make it work. Well we have, but it's hard because we were running up there at least 2 or 3 times a week. That trek makes it rough not to mention I don't ever recall being on time. We were always the ones running through the parking lot ranting about that darn traffic. Okay, so no traffic on Sundays but I'm too embarrassed to admit that we love the snooze button and I can never decide what to wear.
Then, the bigger reason. It's hard to invite people. "Hey, come to church with us. Bring a snack you may get hungry on the way!"
So, that leads us to the search. The former PK (preacher's kid) and Girl who grew up Catholic on a church hunt. I've found it's a process you have to be patient with and open minded about. The focus has to be about Him not us. And of course, there is no perfect church so you can't be so nit picky about it.
"This one talked too long"
"The music wasn't any good."
"Why did everyone except us have a Starbucks cup?"
See. Shame on us. But we're getting better. I know there will be that Sunday where we sit down and it feels right. So I'd love to hear your search stories, tips or funny church stories (I love those).

miscellaneous bin
1. Have I mentioned lately how much I love March Madness? I do I do!! We take this college basketball stuff pretty serious amongst the fam with the brackets and what not, so girlfriends been getting her game on studying up on the school mascots and colors. Just kidding...or maybe not.
2. I'm not a huge fan of the grocery store. Nope. But I go because we must eat. Boy blessed me so with 5 beautiful words this weekend- "I'll go to the store" Oh boy how I love you so. Here's what he tossed in amongst the list. He's got my nomination for the official grocery store runner person. Fine job boy!
Ours was actually a little tub o' cotton and candy...kind of tasted funny!
So glad to see in a world where every item is getting smaller something is getting bigger! We're getting a head start on the Easter candy.
3. Loving this DVD. I've been doing it for a few months now and like mixing it up with running. Nothing like being yelled via the TV. No seriously, best workout DVD for such a quick amount of time that I've tried.
4. I'm off to watch this tonight.
That "30 Rock" put this movie on my "mind grapes" (gotta love that Tracy) so we're kicking it old school tonight.
Later y'all!

theme songs
I think around Monday I made some comment about how my immune system outsmarted all the illnesses floating around as I tilted my head back and did an evil laugh. Take that flu season!
Two days later...sicker than a dog.
Yep, so I've been plopped in front of the television for the past couple of days watching an unhealthy amount of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" while pug eats away at the house and I could care less. And I've learned that although I can never seem to remember where I put my car keys or if I turned the hair straightener off, I have an outstanding memory for sitcom theme songs I haven't heard in decades. Is there a game show for that?
There really should be.
So, I'm realizing this blog post is not going where I had intended it to go. I was going to have y'all reminisce with me on your favorite 80's & 90's sitcoms, but now I'm curious as to hear what sitcom music you're still hanging on to.
Now after I list these they're all going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day...
1. "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"
2. "Golden Girls"- I know my Golden Girls buddy will know this one!
3. "Family Matters"
4. "Full House"
5. "Designing Women"- that one's kind of no fair since it's a real song.
6. "Friends"
7. "Saved by the Bell"
8. "Step by Step"- I seriously miss TGIF
9. "Who's the Boss?"
10. "Growing Pains"
I can't wait to hear your list or a few of your favorites.
P.S.- Does anyone know if they still show "Perfect Strangers" or "Mr. Belvedere"?

The After After After...
So I figured something out tonight.
I (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) have now been watching The Bachelor for 4 hours this week and it's ONLY Tuesday.
Sad I know.
I told myself this morning that I was not going to blog about tonight's After After After episode or whatever it's called. Nope that's it this girl is done. I said that sometime after I was watching HGTV while running on the treadmill and go figure that old show of Chris' came on..."Designer's Challenge". If you've never watched the show (very good I might add) but Chris' narrates while a family picks a room in their house they want redone and 3 professional designers come in and present their plans and the family picks 1. Sounds a little familiar doesn't it. Only their are no roses and no feelings being stomped on! So, I start running a little faster because it reminded me how awful last night was for poor Melissa and that Jason still makes me so mad.
Anyway, I caved. Because I heard "Bachelorette Announcement".
I'm weak.
So, I sat and watched the whole hour. Which really turned out to be a candlelit recap of yesterday's fiasco for anyone that may have been stuck in a hole and missed it. Then some of the ladies returned to give us their take...come on Stephanie no that's not cool. Then he got an applause. It was a good thing I was not there because I would have boo'd him. Then Chris informed us that Melissa declined to come...way to go. Good move. Oh, and then Jason informed us on how he has found his "best friend" (I thought he didn't believe in that) and how he had to fall his heart.
Okay, so I get the follow your heart thing. Find the one that you can spend the rest of your life with, but dear Jason that's not the issue. It's how it was done and protrayed to the whole wide world. Just follow your heart without breaking anyone's. Could he not have waited a day to do it in private?
But, Jillian is the Bachelorette which I am ever so excited about. Have I mentioned I love when she says 'again'.
That's it promise. I'll post about the real world tomorrow.

the finale
**SPOILER ALERT**
My-Oh-My
I'm not sure if I just got finished watching "The Bachelor" or "Jason's Just Not That In To You"? Seriously, which one was it?
I'm so just going to dive into "The After the Rose Finale" because really it's like a giant backstabbing elephant in the room. The begging two hours where like a giant blur.
So, last week a bunch of spoilers where popping up all over the internet and because I have NO patience I read them all. Must know now!! But I did take them all with a grain of salt and kind of got suspicious that they weren't true after seeing Jason on "The View" last week. Then after such a sweet and romantic proposal to Melissa I'm thinking, oh no maybe it's true that they broke up in the last few months.
But knock me upside the head I'd never pin Jason for being one to break up with someone on national TV. Is this Maury or Ricki Lake we're watching? Poor Melissa. Whatever happened between them in the last few months I do not feel she deserved that as an exit. I get it you don't have feelings for her, you messed, things changed yada yada. But for crying out loud knock on her door at home and break up with her, e-mail her, text her, but please don't do it while the girl you're going to try to get with is in the other dressing room. Jason, Jason, Jason!! I really hope for the sake of feelings it was staged a bit.
Then Molly so willing took him back. Girlfriend think twice about this...the man has a track record going on. My tivo is showing they're going to be on a couple talk shows this week, so I'm curious to get some more details.
But wasn't it great seeing DeAnna? That was just fun. Like a little reunion. Was anyone else thinking, couldn't you have just called him and saved yourself some jet lag? But that wouldn't have been as dramatic.
So, I'm worn out now. But y'all it's been a blast getting to chat with everyone on this after each episode...wish we could have had a nice happy normal ending.
In conclusion...Jason is a poopy head.
