sweater ready

I have to admit I'm a little ready for a change in the seasons. I used to not embrace the change from summer to fall with such excitement, but once you are no longer the one boarding the back to school bus...things change.

I'm ready to buy some pumpkins for the porch, open my windows and enjoy the smell of cool air, put on a sweater, eat my weight in mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving and then decorate the Christmas tree.

Can you sense I'm a little past ready?

Well, I must confess I'm in full preparation mode...I've begun the ole' Christmas shopping. Oh, yes ma'am this girl has her game face on. I like to kind of pace it, buy gifts here and there as I go down the list and that way come December instead of losing my sanity in aisle 4 of Target I'm sitting on my couch devouring Christmas goodies and littering my brain with Lifetime's finest Christmas movies. I usually have then by December just a few gifts here and there to buy. It also isn't a huge junk of change being blown all at once which makes Boy a big fan of the plan.

So operation Christmas sanity shopping began a few weeks ago. My sweet neighbor told me about this Mattel toy outlet. I had never heard of such things, so I loaded up and headed out to a Barbie wonderland. Oh, how I miss my Barbies...is that sad? Friends I was mad women on a Barbie and Dora mission loading up my cart and get this I got a $100 worth of toys for $40 bucks. Oh yes, victory was mine.

Now I just have to remember where I put all the gifts.

Anyone have any good ideas for gifts this year?

    Except maybe winter...

  4. SO WITH YOU!! Between your post and Kelly's - I have been getting out all of my fall decor and putting it up!! There is nothing better than the smell of pumpkin!

You are awesome on the Christmas gifts - I am terrible! The few times I have bought gifts this early, I went ahead and gave it the giftee - I suck at surprises!!

  6. I usually do my shopping somewhat early as well and this year because we are going to be in the middle of a cross country move at christmas, i have to get all the shopping done and everything shipped back home to texas before thanksgiving so it will be there waiting when we get there!

Fall is the best!!! I don't get to decorate for christmas this year so i will probably go over board with the fall decor!! =)

  8. I am ready for fall, too!! I just love all the spiced apple smells, pumpkin pie, oh yum! And don't even get me started on Christmas...the best! I do the same type of shopping and have a few gifts, but now you've inspired me to get more (though it doesn't take much to inspire me to shop...)

  9. For Christmas?

Well, since you asked, I want a PS3. My son wants Oblivion. And we all want a new TV - a big plasma monstrosity.

Just email me and I'll send you my address . . .

  10. I hear ya about ready for the season to change! I myself have been in total anticipation of the fall, and then all the holidays. I think also because I'm ready to be DONE being fat and pregnant, and by Christmas I'll have a little newborn snuggled up to my chest. I LOVE to do my Christmas shopping early as well. I start making lists of ideas for people in like September. But my big dilemma this year is the Christmas tree...how long will it take for my toddler to break all my ornaments and pull the tree down on top of himself?

  13. Hi Megan!:)
Funny you posted this! Yesterday I was thinking "man I’m SO ready for some cooler weather!" I'm one of those strange people that start listening to Christmas music in the summer! I haven't done it yet but I’m definitely getting the itch!
I love the fall but it's a little bitter sweet spending it here in Texas when your used to living in upstate NY with all the BEAUTIFUL leaves changing!:( I need to go buy some cinnamon spice potpourri!
