With an afternoon marathon of Reba on I sat down to back up my iPad and somehow managed to remove everything from it instead. It's about 5 seconds from being tossed out the window and me blaming Barbara Jean for this. Oh I miss this show.
While I take a break from breaking things I'll catch up on our week. Monday boy and I celebrated our 7th anniversary. Oh my goodness our marriage is a 2nd grader now. It also makes it 7 years since boy gave me pug as a wedding present.
Pug sure is the gift that keeps on giving isn't he? I type this as I hear him in the other room trying to pry open the pantry door with his paw.
I have no doubt in my mind that if pug where an actual 2nd grader I'd be called to the principal's office once a day.
So, I'm so excited to see where year 7 takes us. Maybe this will be the year that boy successfully completes "how to load a dishwasher properly 101" and I might even figure out how to stay awake for a football game.
Let's place bets to see which is more likely?

some friday randomness
1. I learned what a "Honey Boo Boo" is after googling it or I guess I should say who it is. I kept hearing the name and then saw some pins on pinterest and was thinking "is this like the new honey badger or maybe his year's hottest toy for Christmas". Nope.
Dear Lord, Please let me never have the privilege of sitting on an airplane with a child hopped up on "GoGo Juice".
I also had to google "GoGo juice" to learn that it's half redbull half mountain dew.
Dear TLC, Whatever happened to the good ole days of "Trading Spaces"?
2. It rained this week! Praise the Lord! I was in the grocery store when it started pouring and everyone just started clapping. It was so funny.
3. This week boy came home around 5 o'clock to find me in my office, in workout clothes (though a workout never happened), hair a hot mess in a ponytail all minus make-up and says "hey I told you about that work dinner tonight right?". Say what? Needless to say I was able to pull myself together and restrain myself from taking a chi hair straightener to his forgetful head. I'm working on getting him to embrace the planner on his iphone.
4. Have you seen The Truth Fairy skits on Jimmy Kimmel? Pure hilariousness. Do watch...I think there are 4 total so far.

peach fuzz (and not the good kind)
Okay, so first I totally have to say I promise this is not going in review blog extravaganza blog direction. Not that their is anything wrong with it, just never been my intention here. I'll be back tomorrow with our regularly scheduled pug programming.
A few weeks ago I received any e-mail seeing if I'd be interested in participating on reviewing a Proctor and Gamble item that I loved to kick off their new website P&G eStore. I saw one of my new favorite must haves on the list and was like "absolutely" because I took a leap of faith on this and feel it's worth every stinking penny. Full disclosure P&G didn't send me a freebie to review (I buy this with my own moolah), I'm not receiving payment for this review, but if you click on the P&G link on my blog and make a purchase I do get a small commission.
So, not this past birthday, but the birthday before that I asked for a certain infomercial product that without giving it away is the opposite of a "YES!YES!". You catch me. That's a sad birthday gift to ask for by the way. What age to you go from My Little Pony to Facial Hair removal system? I blame my bad blonde five o'clock shadow on bad genes.
I got it and had extremely high hopes for it. I think I even mentioned I got one and would update my hairless success on this blog. To make a long story short I gave it a month sitting in an empty bathtub basically with a stinging laser pointer on my chin, whined about it what a piece of junk it was, called mom, mom said "you asked for it", and then shipped it back.
Then I saw a few months later saw an ad for the new Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo Kit and on a whim picked it up. I really thought this would be money down the drain. I also feared, because I have extremely sensitive skin, it might feel like my chin was on fire when I used it. Totally and pleasantly surprised when it didn't irritate my skin and actually did the job. I could have cried tears of joy down my baby smooth chin. So, I've added it to my routine using it when I need it. I truly believe this is an awesome must have product that if it only came out years ago could have saved me a lot of money on wasted gadgets and painful waxing.
You can pick it up at your store or order from P&G and have it shipped to your door.
~Get 10% off your P&G order thru August 31, 2012
~Free shipping on orders over $25
~They carry tons of brands and have lots of great Olympic-themed bundles and deals right now
I won't mention that one time I swear I had a chin hair grow an inch by dinner time.

pug's nubbin
I'm going to take a moment and embarrass pug.
Oh, and make a "Friends" reference because I do believe it is my civic duty to try and reference as many situations to a Friends episode and then share them with you.
You're welcome.
A few weeks ago I noticed something on Pug's belly. I wrestled him down to get a closer look a noticed what appeared to be a small skin tag.
And what seemed like just overnight that sucker has gotten longer. We've crossed over from skin tag to full on nubbin.
Beware I've got a picture to show you.
Now I've googled this and apparently it's pretty common, not to get too concerned unless they start scratching at it, but I will bring it up at his annual check up later this month. I love that in my research findings I found repeated warnings not to cut if off with scissors.
Who's cutting off their dog's nubbins? That's terrible.
It took many a treat to get this picture.
So, that's the latest with pug and his nubbin.

work in progress
I got excited today when I looked at the 5 day weather forecast on my phone and noticed it's going to cool off later in the week.
And when I say cool off, I mean it will be 100 degrees...instead of the 106 degree weather that makes me want to cry every time I have to go to the store. A store where I end up having to walk clear across the scorching asphalt concrete and then bee lining it straight for the frozen food section just to pretend to look interested in the new selection of blue bell ice cream flavors, despite the fact that I'm lactose intolerant, just to cool off.
On the bright side I've been less enthused about leaving my air conditioned home and have been knocking off some projects on my to do list. One being trying to give the old blog a facelift. Which, by the way, is still a work in progress but at this point I'm just grateful I haven't broken anything during the re-no process. Still a lot to be done and to add to that list, mama called to let me know she doesn't approve of the lack of pug faces in the header. So, I'm going to rework their smushed faces into the header somehow so everyone can admire pug's sassy smirk and keep mama happy.
And I'm off, back to the frozen food section where you may or not find me curled up next to the frozen green beans.

book shopping
I've kind of been in a reading funk lately, and I think it's because I've told myself I need to read what I have so I don't have to move it when and if we ever move. And then it's like well because I'm making myself read it, I don't really want to read it. Does that make any sense to anyone besides me?
So here's the list:
Read:
1. "Between Shades of Gray" by Ruta Sepetys : I mentioned in my last book shopping post that I had just started this read. I sometimes tend to stray away from historical fiction, but this was just an unbelievable read. It's a heartbreaking story, but absolutely worth picking up if you get a chance.
2. "I've Got Your Number" by Sophie Kinsella: I've been saving this for a rainy day. I just love Kinsella's work and every time one of her books come out I usually read it write away, but I ended up saving this for a gloomy mood kind of day where I knew this would cheer me up. And it worked. Just a fun lighthearted read...read it with a british accent and it's even more fun! Totally kidding!
3. "Then Came You" by Jennifer Weiner: Liked, but not loved. Felt it started out really good and then kind of had a hard time keeping my interest the rest of the way through. This was my first read of hers so I'll probably try another of her works...any recommendations?
4. "Empty Promises" by Pete Wilson: I read this a bit ago when it first came out and could not put it down. Brilliant. He always seems to write just what I need to hear. The hubs and I love listening to his podcasts when we get a chance too.
Reading:
1. "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortensen: I know this was kind of an "it" book a few years ago and I never got around to picking it up. Then at a charity sale I found a copy and picked it up and just started. So far really enjoying his story.
To Read:
1. "Broken Harbor" by Tana French: I have not read anything from this author before, but have heard awesome things about this book. So, I'm anxious to pick it this one up next.
So how about you? What have you been reading lately? Any good beach reads you've picked up this summer?
