nothin' says lovin' like bread from the oven

Nothing like starting your weekend off with a loaf of fresh homemade bread smothered in honey butter or strawberry jam. This is absolutely my favorite white bread recipe!! It's so delicious and super easy to make. I just toss it all in the good ole' Cuisinart and let her do all the hard work.

Here's the recipe link if you're interested...I only use 1/4 cup of sugar in this recipe.

Also, who's excited about The Office Baby Thursday? Whoa! You'd think it was real life friend having a baby I'm so excited. You have to check out this link to The Office Baby Blog...how funny is the name post?

bulk shopping

Evidence to how buying in bulk can be such a joyous experience...
yet a dangerous one as well.

And they count as one veggie serving too (maybe). Someone just please say yes on that theory.

waiting for a tivo miracle

We're starting our week off to a VERY sad start; the Tivo is on it's death bed {insert uncontrollable sobs}.

Yesterday afternoon I noticed the tv freezing up and at first thought it was the cable, so I dialed them up screaming "Help! Help!". A sweet tech lady answered and after discussing the weather, dogs, tripping down stairs (don't remember how that made it in there) I admitted my panic in missing Amazing Race & Brothers and Sisters that night. She gasped at the horror, then vowed to ensure that didn't happen.

That's my kind of customer service. I immediately forgot how mad I was at them for charging me for the "Free" month of HBO. Apparently, their version of free is different then mine.

Well to my technology embarrassment it was not the cable and in fact Tivo and today he has taken a turn for the worse (freezing every 2 minutes).

Boy has informed me we must be prepared to say good-bye and switch to DVR.

Then I screamed No...I'm not ready!! All the Grey's, Lost & Office memories. It's been such a faithful friend not to mention the joy of seeing the little Tivo creature!

Boy has promised to try some more CPR tomorrow before we pull the plug.

So much for that Lifetime membership fee.

my puggy valentine

Well we're a little late on wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! But hope y'all had a fun day. Bless his sweet little heart can you see his teeth in this picture? I need to teach him how to smile without showing any jacked up teeth in pictures. I'm guessing it has something to due with all that furniture gnawing!!

Pug was my furry little valentine today. Boy had to work all day, so pug and I caught up on our Lifetime movies and ate the last cupcake from the batch of the most awesome cupcakes ever.

Okay so pug sat and watched me eat it. I'm so mean.

But back to these cupcakes...we celebrated my mom's birthday Saturday and I whipped up some Snicker's cupcakes from this Food Network recipe. They were a huge hit! I even sent some to work with boy today and he came home saying 2 guys informed him if his wife was looking for a new husband they were available (I wonder if they do laundry)! Ha...single ladies these are marriage proposal cupcakes here! I did notice these got not so great reviews on the recipe site. The marshmallow frosting was a tad runny, but I'd probably add some more peanut butter to it next time...otherwise everyone loved them. I think they are definitely worth a try.

let it snow

It's been snowing all day today and it seems when it snows I go into full lazy mode so I'm afraid nothing exciting to report. Boy was already off work today so we've had our own snow day lounging around and catching up on some tivo'd shows like Modern Family {so funny}, Undercover Boss & Lost. As for Pug, he took one look outside and headed for his warm blanket on the sofa. It's a good thing we don't live up North...he'd never go outside.

Hope you're having a great Thursday!

my hillbilly valentine

Boy cracked his front tooth on a soft taco today at work.

He looks hilarious.

And I totally did not laugh out loud when he walked in the door...because that would be so mean.

And I did not tell him to put the broken piece under his pillow and maybe the tooth fairy would stop by tonight...no that's mean too.

I tried getting a picture for y'all, but no luck. He's shy about his pearly whites.

I couldn't get him into the dentist till Thursday, so bless his heart I'll have my hillbilly valentine for too more days!

Also, my mom's birthday is today! Happy Birthday Mom...I love you!

ruffled tee

Stephanie featured this fun little tee on her blog this week and I fell in love it's so cute I had to try it myself. I happened to have 2 black fitted tees that someone gave me...they have printing on the front that made them find a home at the back of closet. Now after a little tweaking they'll come out and play more!

It was super easy too for a sewing machine beginner like myself with not an ounce of crafty patience. Give it a try if you get a chance!

miscellaneous bin

1. Guess what's on tonight? Lost!!! Whoa so excited! For the past 3 season premieres I keep saying let's do a Lost party and then never do...maybe for the finale I'll get it together. Who else is watching?

2. Thanks for your sweet comments on boy...he's feeling loads better. Last night we were watching tv and someone poured themselves a glass a milk. We both screamed out "smell it"! I don't think we're paranoid at all now do you?

3. Pug ate the tip of my new bamboo knitting needle. Thank you pug.

4. Speaking of dogs...the Puppy Bowl is on Animal Planet this weekend...so cute!

5. I just spent one too many hours in Cabela's while boy bought himself a new toy. And while drowning in my boredom a little boy walked up to me and informed me that he was wearing a belt, but his pants were still falling down. People tell me random stuff...what can I say.

how to get fired from breakfast duty

This weekend I had a loaf of french bread lying around and thought to myself "I'm going to be the greatest wife ever and make boy some french toast with it". I slice it up, beat up a few eggs, even added some cinnamon and vanilla to the mix, then grabbed for the milk that had yet to be opened and cooked it up and wowed boy with a breakfast feast.

A few hours later...

Boy is sicker than a dog.

We didn't put two and two together until the next morning when boy started feeling better and was craving a bowl of cereal. One bite and the mystery was solved.

Spoiled milk.

I don't get it. The milk had a week before hitting it's expiration date, but it smelled something awful funky.

Guess who's been released of breakfast duties now?
