muffin top

Yesterday I turned 25. Gulp. I know that's not old, but when I start thinking how it feels like only yesterday that I was 15 learning how to parallel park and if 10 years can really go that quickly then I'll be 35 then 45 and so on and so on.

Oh and in those 10 years I still cannot parallel park.

But it's been a wonderful 25 years and I can't wait to explore the next 25.

And to celebrate my birthday pug caught bronchitis.

He sounded like a cross between a goose and a heavy smoker. It was pitiful. So pitiful that the vet called me today just to make sure he was recovering because he left quite an impression on the hearts of the nurses. He does have a way with the ladies. But he's almost back to normal after a day taking his better-be-made-of-gold-because-they-cost-an-arm-and-a-leg antibiotics. And during his impromptu vet appointment we were informed that pug has gained some extra poundage.

He's disputing these allegations.

But look there's the muffin top.

"What a muffin? Where's the muffin?"

I had to break it to him that the treats are not going to be falling from the sky like they used too.

  2. Oh my goodness happy birthday!! Yeah, my bumper has a few dents in it from parallel parking. Boo. Those were the only points I lost in the drivers test.

    Sorry about that roll pug.

  3. *My* pug used to be super fit and actually muscular, and then *my* boy decided it was a good idea to get him fixed. Now he looks like a chubby little thing. He is constantly on a diet and only gets a small piece of a treat when he poos, and he is still getting chubbier! AHH!

  5. It happened to the Moose, too. She went to get her nails trimmed at her neighborhood vet's office and apparently she's packed on about two pounds since her last visit. I feel like a bad mom...we down-sized her backyard by about 70% when we moved to Texas. I also let her lounge around all day, and eat pretty much whatever we eat. Bad mama...we're taking a few extra walks around the 'hood. We could both stand to lose a few.. :)

    Poor pug...diets stink!

  6. Happy birthday!! Hope it was a great one! Winston got in trouble at his last appt, too, for being overweight. We're pretty strict with his food so I'm pretty sure he just needs more exercise...but Winnie and I both agreed it's too darn hot outside!

  8. Oh to be 25 again! :) Happy belated birthday and enjoy your mid 20's, for when you hit your late 20's you'll start to feel old. Be sure to throw a few kiddos in by then! :)

  9. Happy birthday!

    Hmm I can't parallel park either...overrated.

Preppy Pug is actually fairly lean for a neutered boy pug. He hikes for miles and miles at least 3 times a week.
